Life lessons college has taught me

College has taught me a lot in the two years I have been here. I have grow up even more than I could have imagined. It has opened my mind to things that my small town could only dream about.

 There are so many things that moving away from home has taught me. It has taught me that I actually have to plan my meals or I'm not going to eat, which has happened too many times.Now, it ia the first thing I put in my planner.

It has taught me that I have to plan my days out or I will get lost in the sea of work and school. It has taught me that even missing one class can make or break that Brit  Lit class. It has taught me coping mechimisms for when I become home sick.

But most importantly, it has taught me that I am stronger than I think. College has taught me a greater love for myself and my community. I will always recommend college or even just moving away from home because the things I have learned by doing just that will never be able to measure to anything I've experienced before. South has taught me so many things and I can't wait to see what else is in store.

Advice for Freshman Year Me.

I am currently a Junior here at South Alabama. You could say I'm a veteran of campus-life at this point. When I look back to scared freshman baby me, I see just how much I have grown. I have come a long way since then and I am super proud of it. I may have had a rough start, but boy did I learn a thing or two about adulting. The first piece of advice I would give myself is, Don't worry so much . Everything will work out in the end. You have to be willing to allow certain doors to close so others may open. If I wouldn't have done that then so many things in my life currently would have never happened. Seeing it now, if I would have been more open to change freshman year, so many more opportunities would have shown. Serving as a Jag

I have always had a passion for helping people around me. Whether it was in my home town, Kinston AL, during baseball/softball season at the concession stand or taking weekend trips to help local natural disaster devastation in Alabama and Florida. I have always been fueled to help others. That is why when I moved to Mobile I knew I wanted to find something down here to volunteer my time with. One day, I checked my Jag-mail to find a Daily Digest that had an AD for USA Children's and Women's looking for volunteers. While it is an extensive process that includes a background check and a few doctors appointments to make sure your shots are up to date, I knew this was the job for me.  I have been there for sometime now and would not trade it for a thing. My favorite places on campus to study.

1. The Marx Library window. This window has seen my highs and lows. It has seen me jamming to my music and it has seen me cramming for finals. It is my favorite place because I am able to tune out the would and just look. Look at the trees, the pond, the people. Souths beauty is what drew me into campus. That is probably why it is my happy stop.  2.The Starbucks in the Marx Library Starbucks is my third home. I have had countless meetings and study dates in there. During rush hours it can get a little noisy, but once everyone has scattered to class then it becomes the perfect place to get stuff done! 3. The "Swamp" The "Swamp" is where our local wildlife live. I have spotted many cranes, turtles, and even beavers! I love to just hang out and do my readings over by the benches they have set up.   4.
