Why living on campus has benefited me.
From the moment I stepped onto campus I knew this is where I wanted to be. From the established trees to the flowers sprinkled in every direction I looked I knew at the end of my senior year of high school this would be my home for the next four years. Taking my first tour I was awestruck. South has come far in just the last 2.5 years I've lived on campus. I've even picked up on a few things, here they are.
1. The Dining Hall (We call it the Cafe), really isn't all that bad. The staff really try to make it seem like it is your home away from home. They have a survey that is sent in real time to the head of the Cafe. That means, that as soon as a survey is sent to his email he checks it. He told me once in a meeting that if he does not check it right then, then it is sent to his boss. So he always checks it as soon as it hits. They strive to make the Cafe a place that everyone will love. Everyone has a voice on what they eat.
2. My Resident Advisor really cares for their residents. I haven't met an RA that I did not like. They love there residents. They put on programs and they even make these cool creative door decks that have our names on them. They take time out of their days to make sure we as residents are good.
3. From Delta 4 to Beta 5 I have loved every community I have lived in. They are all unique and they posses their own personality. You will always be able to find a place you fit in.
4. The Student center is the hub of Campus Life. While anyone can go to the Student Center, I love how if there is an event at the Student Center then I can just jump on a Jag Tran and it will take me straight home.
5. The JagTran system. I love not having to circle the parking lots to find a parking spot. I like how I can park in the residence parking spaces and then just hope on a Green Jagtran and it will take me straight to the Student Center.
